The brightness of the sun squeezed into a slow motion downpour
Responding to a video of sunlight shining through trees during a heavy rain storm, this work was a process that involved:
gestural interactions with liquid clay; coating the small gestures (squeezes, droplets) with specular and wet-look glaze surfaces;
searching my photo library for images of ‘sunlight’; printing these images out, dissolving them in rainwater, and reconstituting
them into new sheets of handmade paper.
